Worth a read in my opinion: This is a good primer on the key characteristics of money, what makes money money, and how these factors intersect with bitcoin (BTC) and competing cryptocurrencies.
What do you think? I personally think that MoE is a key factor for crypto becoming “money” in the sense that most people see it (and hence why I have hesitations about BTC in the long term if it can’t solve volatile — and sometimes high — transaction fees (and their associated network congestion).
